Malvern Residence III is a Studio Tate project featured in Vogue Living. InStyle Stone completed the custom Palladiana flooring, the 100mm concrete slab, the hydronic heating floor build-up, custom terrazzo steps, Palladiana plinths and detailed stonework.
Custom Palladiana Flooring
We created the floor with large-format natural stone and terrazzo pieces. Instead of using a standard tile layout, we used wider spacing to give the floor a strong architectural rhythm.
Each piece was selected and placed by hand. As a result, the finished floor has movement, scale and a one-of-a-kind character.
Hydronic Heating and Slab Preparation
The floor sits over hydronic heating, so the build-up required careful planning. Our team installed the 100mm concrete slab and prepared the substrate before the Palladiana was laid.
We also considered thermal movement, installation sequence and long-term performance. This helped protect the heating system below while supporting the finished stone surface above.
Custom Terrazzo and Stone Details
In addition to the Palladiana floor, we completed custom terrazzo steps, Palladiana plinths and stone details throughout the home.
These elements helped connect the floor with the broader interior scheme. They also added weight, texture and a sculptural quality to the project.
Project Outcome
This project shows InStyle Stone’s experience in complex residential stone and terrazzo work. It brings together hand-laid Palladiana, hydronic heating, concrete slab preparation, custom terrazzo detailing and architectural stonework.
Together, these elements created a highly individual floor and a strong material foundation for the home.
