Toorak Residence – Custom Palladiana & Terrazzo Flooring

This bespoke Toorak residence, designed by Edwina Glenn Interior Design Studio, showcases a highly customised approach to natural stone, terrazzo and Palladiana flooring within a refined Melbourne home.

InStyle Stone was engaged to deliver the specialist flooring package, incorporating multiple natural stone and terrazzo materials, large-format marble elements, custom Palladiana detailing and installation over hydronic heating.

The floor was designed as a seamless composition rather than a traditional tiled surface, requiring extensive planning, templating and hand placement of individual stone components. Each stone element was carefully selected, positioned and finished to create a balanced architectural surface that responds to the surrounding interiors, natural light and material palette.

A key technical component of the project was the installation over a hydronic heated floor system. Careful consideration was given to substrate preparation, movement control, material compatibility and installation sequencing to support long-term performance while preserving the design intent.

The result is a one-of-a-kind floor that functions as both a surface and a piece of architectural craftsmanship, demonstrating InStyle Stone’s expertise in bespoke Palladiana flooring, terrazzo installation, stone fabrication and complex residential construction.
