The Grind and Seal Polished concrete method is a popular choice due to initial installation costs often being less expensive than other concrete polishing options.
The grind and seal process is in a sense, self explanatory.
The first step is to grind back the top layer of concrete to expose as much stone as the customer wants – this will vary according to customer taste and the overall affect that they are trying to achieve.
Once the desired level of stone exposure has been reached we then employ finer diamond tools to get rid of and visible scratches and to prepare a flat surface ready for a coating. There are several cosmetic options available at this point in the process. It is possible to change the colour of the concrete by dyeing it Alternatively, if you desire a smoother, glass like surface, the concrete can be grouted to achieve this effect.
The final step involves applying a protective sealer to add that professional finish. The sealer can be a matte finish, semi-gloss or high gloss finish – the choice is yours.
